Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Night Shift)

About the role

The Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to work nights in the Emergency Department at its Hellertown Neighborhood Hospital. This position provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, supporting patient safety and quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for designated patients in the emergency department.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to resolve patient needs promptly.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course to ensure effective transitions of care.
• Participate in performance improvement processes and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
• Teach and mentor new colleagues, interns and preceptees as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Pennsylvania (required upon hire).
• Successful completion of orientation programs related to the emergency specialty.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).
• Basic computer skills.
