Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Mid-Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Orlando emergency department, working the mid-shift (3pm-3am). The nurse conducts clinical assessments, develops care plans and coordinates care across the multidisciplinary team. Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus and $5,000 relocation assistance are available to eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments of patients' physical, mental and emotional health
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and monitor patient progress, adjusting them as needed
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, social workers and therapists
• Document assessments, care plans, interventions and outcomes in the medical record
• Administer medications and treatments safely and educate patients and families
• Supervise and direct nursing and support staff

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 1+ year of acute hospital experience (preferred); 1+ 12-lead EKG experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred
• Fluent English, ability to work under pressure and independently, and effective management of stress and conflict
• Eligible candidates must commit to a 12-month full-time employment contract for the sign-on and relocation bonuses

• Acute-care nursing knowledge and skills
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise care plans
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a busy environment
