Registered Nurse, Critical Care, Days

About the role

AdventHealth Connerton is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its critical care unit, working days. The nurse provides direct patient care, develops care plans, mentors nursing staff and takes part in quality improvement. Eligible clinicians can earn salary increases of up to 20% through a voluntary Clinical Ladder Program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on findings and diagnosis
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses to adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and document care in the electronic medical record
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, maintain infection control and respond promptly to life-threatening situations
• Take part in quality improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
• Previous experience in a specialty area preferred
• Background screening under Florida law applies

Required skills

• Critical care nursing knowledge and clinical skills
• Proficiency in the electronic medical record (previous Cerner experience preferred)
• EKG knowledge, depending on patient population
• Organization, prioritization and problem-solving abilities
