Registered Nurse – Colorectal Surgery

About the role

Cleveland Clinic’s H50 Colorectal Surgery unit, part of the Digestive Disease Institute, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a team of 16 colorectal surgeons and dedicated nursing staff. The RN will provide direct patient care for individuals with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer and other bowel conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to achieve expected outcomes.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders accurately.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and families using appropriate educational materials.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing protocols.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least one year of acute care RN experience or military RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if hired into a critical care area.
