Registered Nurse – Chemotherapy/Oncology Infusion (Full-Time)

About the role

The Sylvester Cancer Center at the University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to provide specialized chemotherapy and oncology infusion care. This full‑time position involves direct patient assessment, treatment administration, and collaborative care planning within a compassionate oncology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs and symptoms.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient condition.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and educate patients and families about treatment plans.
• Safely administer medications, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to the healthcare team while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Active Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or infusion settings.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health and safety guidelines, and nursing care methods.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
