Registered Nurse – Chemotherapy Infusion (Level 2)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Registered Nurse (Level 2) to provide chemotherapy infusion services in Fort Lauderdale. The role involves direct patient care, coordination with physicians, and ensuring safe medication administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and monitor symptoms and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, condition, and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient status.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Consider patient age and cultural background when delivering care and providing information.
• Provide psychological support to foster a compassionate environment.
• Perform patient tests and safely administer medications within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate medication and treatment records in compliance with regulations.
• Communicate care plans promptly to patients, families, and team members while respecting HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning using available resources.
• Prioritize assignments, seek assistance when needed, and ensure superior patient care.
• Operate medical equipment safely and serve as a preceptor for new staff.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
