About the role
The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to provide chemotherapy infusion services. The role focuses on delivering patient‑family centered, culturally competent care while supporting oncology patients throughout their treatment journey.
Key responsibilities
- Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs.
- Report symptoms, changes in condition, and modify treatment plans per physician orders.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and chemotherapy infusions.
- Administer medications and chemotherapy agents safely, maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with discharge planning and transition of care.
- Serve as a preceptor, guiding new staff and providing constructive feedback.
- Operate medical equipment safely and adhere to university policies.
Required profile
- Current RN license in the state of Florida.
- Experience in oncology or chemotherapy infusion preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to cultural competence.
