Registered Nurse - Cardiac PCU Training Nights

About the role

AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for its Cardiac PCU, working nights from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, 36 hours per week. The role covers patient assessment, care planning, medication administration and education, with training nights.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ACLS certification (both required).
• Ability to work as a team player and to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise care plans.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• EKG competency.

The pay range is $31.85 to $52.76. Positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
