Registered Nurse 2 – UPAC – UHealth SoLé Mia

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Registered Nurse 2 to join the UPAC team within UHealth SoLé Mia. The role involves delivering high‑quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting a compassionate clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and clinical observations.
• Review and interpret diagnostic test results to evaluate patient status.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring cultural and age‑appropriate considerations.
• Provide psychological support and nurture a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate medication and treatment records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while respecting HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Learning agility to adapt to new procedures and technologies.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Technical proficiency with office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
