Registered Nurse 2 – Oncology Specialty (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Residency Registered Nurse 2 – Oncology Specialty provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent environment at UHealth Tower. This full‑time position focuses on delivering evidence‑based oncology nursing while supervising allied health staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned oncology patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, providing culturally sensitive education and psychological support.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and coordinate resources for seamless transitions of care.
• Serve as a preceptor, guiding new staff and providing constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Current RN licensure in Florida.
• Experience in oncology or acute care nursing preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor nursing staff.
