Registered Nurse 2 – OBGYN

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of OBGYN seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to deliver patient‑family centered, culturally competent care using evidence‑based standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results, consult with physicians and other professionals, and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Provide psychological support, consider age and culture in care, and assist with discharge planning.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience, preferably in obstetrics‑gynecology.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods, and health‑safety guidelines.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in patient assessment and documentation.
