About the role
The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to join its Gastroenterology unit, focusing on Crohn's disease care. This full‑time position provides direct patient care, collaborates with physicians, and supports a compassionate treatment environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assess patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs.
- Modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
- Review and report diagnostic test results.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Provide culturally sensitive education and psychological support.
- Administer medications safely and maintain accurate medication records.
- Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with discharge planning and operate medical equipment safely.
- Serve as a preceptor for new staff and uphold university policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Valid Florida RN license.
- Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience.
- Strong learning agility, teamwork, and communication abilities.
