Registered Nurse 2 – Full‑Time Days Shift

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks a Registered Nurse 2 to provide patient‑family centered care on a full‑time days schedule in North Miami. The role emphasizes culturally competent, evidence‑based practice while supervising nursing and allied health staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Report symptoms, vital sign changes, and diagnostic test results to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care using best practices.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Operation of medical equipment within scope of practice.
