Registered Nurse – 12‑hour Shifts, Pleasant Hill

About the role

Thrive Now Recovery Center is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide safe, evidence‑based medical care to residents undergoing treatment for substance use and co‑occurring mental health disorders. The RN will work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering trauma‑informed care and supporting each client’s recovery journey.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and document high‑risk indicators promptly.
• Develop and update individualized nursing care plans for each admission.
• Administer medications accurately, manage MAR reconciliation, and monitor for side effects.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide direct clinical interventions as needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and contribute to holistic care plans.
• Coordinate with external hospitals, providers, and families to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with medical discharge planning from intake through completion.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
• Experience in residential treatment settings, substance use, or mental health care.
• Strong understanding of trauma‑informed, person‑centered care principles.
• Ability to work night or day 12‑hour shifts on a 3‑day workweek schedule.
