Regional Credit Officer

About the role

The Regional Credit Officer leads a team of Credit Analysts, Portfolio Managers and support staff, overseeing underwriting and credit risk management across a geographic region. The role partners with sales, documentation and senior leadership to ensure sound lending practices, regulatory compliance and shareholder value.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Credit Officer in managing loan‑distribution risk and implementing credit policies.
• Lead or co‑chair the Regional Loan Committee and manage the Credit Analyst team.
• Oversee new loan underwriting, including financial statement, cash‑flow and collateral analysis.
• Monitor adherence to credit policy, handle exceptions and report portfolio status to senior management.
• Drive technology and process improvement projects to increase underwriting efficiency.
• Prepare, review and revise bank lending policies and loan write‑ups for executive approval.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial and industrial loan underwriting and credit risk assessment.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing credit teams.
• Deep knowledge of credit policies, regulatory guidelines and risk rating frameworks.
• Advanced accounting expertise and ability to interpret complex financial statements.
