Regional Buyer - Industrial Distribution

About the role

Ryan Herco Flow Solutions, a SunSource company, is a distributor of fluid control systems, fluid filtration systems, fluid handling products, micro-electronics and general industrial supplies, serving customers in electronics manufacturing, chemicals, water and waste treatment, metal finishing, pollution control and life sciences. It is looking for a Regional Buyer to oversee and purchase products and materials cost-effectively for its branches in the region, while keeping inventory balanced with sales. The position is based in Burbank, CA or Tempe, AZ.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase and control inventory for the branch office, check stock and replenish as needed
• Monitor non-moving items and react quickly to backorders and transfers while keeping lead times minimal
• Review Recommended Order Reports and decide on orders and quantities
• Follow up weekly on line buy maintenance and track trends against the strategic inventory plan
• Scrutinize transfer and purchase order variances, and reconcile Accounts Payable and purchase order reports
• Negotiate pricing and maintain vendor relationships, using sourcing techniques to improve price and material terms
• Handle purchase order acknowledgements, follow-up and expediting as needed, and keep in close contact with the Sales Department

Required profile

• 3-5 years of purchasing experience, or a college degree in Supply Chain Management with an internship
• College degree preferred; some college or AA degree required
• Knowledge of the product or plastics industry is a plus
• Detail-oriented, organized, strong negotiator, good communicator with vendors, warehouse, sales and management, and able to prioritize and decide
