Recruitment Specialist

About the role

The Recruitment Specialist is a full‑cycle recruiter within Housing Works' People Operations team. You will partner with HR, hiring managers and external partners to attract, screen and hire qualified talent across multiple departments while delivering a positive candidate experience.

Key responsibilities

• Source candidates using ATS platforms, LinkedIn, Indeed, CUNY job boards and other channels.
• Conduct cold outreach, build pipelines, and represent Housing Works at job fairs and networking events.
• Review, screen and document 30‑40 resumes weekly and conduct at least 15 phone screenings per week.
• Coordinate interview logistics, collect feedback from hiring managers and ensure compliance with employment laws.
• Maintain detailed Excel trackers for open roles, candidate flow, pipelines and new‑hire status.
• Prepare weekly recruitment activity summaries and support onboarding documentation.

Required profile

• Organized, detail‑oriented professional with solid full‑cycle recruiting experience.
• Comfortable managing high‑volume workflows and maintaining accurate data.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with candidates, hiring managers and external partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking recruitment metrics.
• Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
• Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed (including sponsored postings).
• Knowledge of Salesforce for retrieving hiring requests.
