About the role
Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Crew Leader, the custodian ensures the Sandy Recreation Center remains clean, safe, and welcoming for employees, visitors, and the public.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of custodial and facility support tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, restrooms, and equipment rooms.
- Operate commercial cleaning equipment such as automatic carpet extractors, wet/dry mop systems, and floor sweepers.
- Dilute and apply cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions.
Required profile
- At least 16 years old.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow daily routines.
- Effective verbal communication and ability to follow directions.
Required skills
- Use of commercial cleaning equipment (carpet extractor, mop systems, floor sweepers).
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety practices.
- Ability to read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals.
