R&D Engineer/Scientist – High‑Throughput Polymer Platform

About the role

Slingshot Biosciences is seeking an R&D Engineer/Scientist to advance a next‑generation, high‑throughput polymer manufacturing platform during a focused 3‑month engagement. You will work on‑site in Emeryville alongside a multidisciplinary team, translating experimental insights into tangible improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct rigorous wet‑lab experiments to characterize system behavior, fluid dynamics, and output quality.
• Optimize, test, and refine the polymer manufacturing system through hands‑on experimentation.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory hardware, fluidic components, and analytical instrumentation.
• Work directly with pumps, sensors, and related equipment to ensure reliable platform performance.
• Analyze experimental data and communicate actionable findings to guide technical decisions.
