Associate FPGA Engineer

About the role

Moog Space and Defense Group is seeking an Associate FPGA Engineer to work onsite in Buffalo, NY. The role involves conceptual design, analysis, development and testing of complex control systems for defense applications, focusing on electro‑hydraulic, electromechanical and electropneumatic hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate in a team‑oriented environment to develop new products and support customers.
• Contribute to product and market development efforts, including proposal designs and cost estimates.
• Validate concepts through trade studies, analyses, and experimental test programs.
• Create reliable designs and document analyses, test results, and reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Experience or academic exposure to FPGA firmware design.
• Knowledge of VHDL and FPGA simulation tools.
• Familiarity with Matlab and Simulink.
• Experience with simulation, testing and debugging techniques.
• Comfort with electronics lab equipment.
• Understanding of interface and network protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, RS‑422, RS‑485, Ethernet) is a plus.
• Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance.
