Radiology Department Observer (Visiting Faculty)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a short‑term observer to rotate through multiple sections of the College of Medicine Radiology Department. This Visiting Faculty/Scholar position offers hands‑on exposure to clinical imaging workflows, supports departmental education and research initiatives, and aligns with UAMS’s commitment to teamwork, diversity, and improving patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Observe daily operations in various radiology service areas, including diagnostic imaging, interventional suites, and research laboratories.
• Document workflow processes, assist faculty with educational activities, and contribute to data collection for quality improvement projects.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings and shadow radiology professionals to gain insight into clinical decision‑making.
• Maintain compliance with safety, privacy, and infection‑control policies throughout all rotations.

Required profile

• Completion of an undergraduate or graduate education program.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Full COVID‑19 vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption on file with Student & Employee Health Services.
