Radiation Therapist

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Health System is hiring a Radiation Therapist for its Radiation Oncology-Cancer Institute at the Saint Lucie West Med Center in Port St Lucie, Florida. The therapist delivers radiation therapy prescribed by physicians, working 8-hour days on a rotating early and late schedule, and rotates between St. Lucie West and the Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center at Martin North Hospital. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $8,000.

Key responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic and patient care services delivering radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.
• Determine and deliver treatment plans in collaboration with the physician and dosimetrist.
• Monitor and document the patient's condition and report adverse reactions.
• Assess and educate patients according to department protocols.
• Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Check and adjust equipment, including the linear accelerator.

Required profile

• Graduate of a CAHEA-approved school of radiation therapy technology or registry eligible.
• Board-certified Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT) in good standing.
• Current Florida licensure.
• BLS certification through the AHA or American Red Cross.
• Experience with Radiation Oncology electronic medical records.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, push/pull over 100 lbs, and work call rotations on weekdays and weekends, with flexibility to float to other CCHS facilities.

Required skills

• Preferred: experience with external radiation therapy, IMRT, IGRT and CT simulation.
• Preferred: experience with Aria, Truebeam and Siemens CT sim.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
