Quality Inspector – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Quality Inspector to join its aerospace manufacturing team. You will work on the shop floor inspecting composite aerostructures for the Airbus A350 XWB, ensuring every component meets strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Visually inspect in‑process and completed electronic units, electromechanical assemblies, and sub‑assemblies for structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
• Utilize measuring devices such as dial indicators, micrometers, scales, and fixtures to verify dimensions against blueprints and customer specifications.
• Accept or reject defective units, document findings, and perform line clearances after each lot.
• Monitor quality using statistical process control or other control procedures as required.
• Follow prescribed methods, setups, and inspection checklists to maintain consistent quality.

Required profile

• Ability to work with predetermined inspection methods and specifications.
• Attention to detail for identifying structural flaws and missing welds.
• Capability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and inspection instructions.
• Willingness to follow safety and quality procedures on the shop floor.
