About the role
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that raw materials, hardware, fabricated and machined parts, and assemblies meet defined specifications. The role involves interpreting drawings, performing dimensional checks, visual verifications, and documenting any non‑conformances while collaborating with engineers, technicians and production staff.
Key responsibilities
- Perform first‑piece, in‑process and final inspections on materials, products and assemblies using calibrated measurement equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances, and record test data accurately.
- Validate dimensional accuracy and visual quality of fabricated and machined parts against acceptance criteria.
- Review accompanying documentation such as dimensional reports, traceability records and certificates of conformity.
- Apply a range of inspection techniques autonomously and ensure calibrated tools are used.
- Complete non‑conforming material reports and other required inspection records.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical inspection, CMM programming, or related manufacturing environments.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
- Shift hours: Monday‑Thursday, 4:30 am – 3 pm, on‑site work only.
Required skills
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection with programming experience.
- General mechanical inspection using calipers, micrometers and other gauges.
- Geometric tolerancing according to ASME Y14.5.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Email) and blueprint reading.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, basic technical mathematics, inspection technology and basic statistics.
