Quality Assurance Technician

The Defense Group is recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician to join the team in the Buffalo, NY area. Key responsibilities

• Perform production inspection plans for receiving, manufacturing, assembly, test, and first‑article inspections, including physical inspections and statistical process control.
• Conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections using microscopes, precision gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Verify compliance with contractual quality changes and maintain documentation.
• Support process validation, tooling trials, gauge capability studies, and continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen.
• Prepare and execute customer source inspections and assist in non‑conformance investigations.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing quality experience, including writing and tracking non‑conformances and corrective actions.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Local to Western New York preferred; relocation not provided.

Required skills

• Reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment (air gauges, Vici laser mic systems, super micrometers, microscopes, CMM).
• Familiarity with AS9100 specifications and quality documentation best practices.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC), gauge capability studies, and process validation.
• Knowledge of Kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies.
