Quality Assurance Supervisor Trainee

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Quality Assurance Supervisor Trainee in Tulare. The trainee helps develop and implement quality assurance policies, carries out tests and inspections, identifies production, process or product issues and presents solutions. The role supports the plant operations department in Quality Assurance and Quality Control.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the plant Quality/Lab Department and plant personnel, based on regulatory, customer and internal quality requirements.
• Oversee Quality Assurance systems, including process evaluation, product protection programs, process specifications and standards, sanitation programs, HACCP and GMP programs, production labeling and product storage and distribution.
• Oversee quality control systems, including hold programs and mock recalls, lab procedures, product functionality evaluations, process verification programs, internal and external audits and environmental microbiological monitoring programs.
• Communicate effectively with lab personnel, all departments, sister plants and management to keep processes running smoothly.
• Perform other duties as deemed appropriate and necessary.

Required profile

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science or a related field (preferred), or equivalent experience.
• Able to evaluate production and packaging processes and choose the most efficient way to achieve goals.
• Able to lead, influence and motivate people, and to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Self-motivated, able to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, and professional in representing Saputo.
• Able to work scheduled hours and required overtime, and reliable, honest, respectful, detail-oriented and punctual.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of computer programs such as Excel and Word.
• Effective communication.
