PV Solar Technician II – Renewable Energy Operations

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a PV Solar Technician II to join the operations team at the Fort Bend Solar Farm in East Bernard, Texas. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting photovoltaic systems, inverters, and battery storage equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power generation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PV arrays, inverters, and battery storage units.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues while adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Conduct site inspections, safety analyses, and participate in emergency drills.
• Support inventory control, documentation, and warranty tracking for replacement parts.
• Operate and maintain electrical equipment up to 345 kV, including lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Communicate with the operations center and cross‑functional teams to resolve issues.
• Assist with new installations, commissioning, and project‑based site work.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in solar, renewable energy, or related electrical environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or journeyman certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
• Willingness to travel, work night shifts or extended hours, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Required skills

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of PV systems.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electrical theory, power electronics, substation equipment, and control systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, electrical test equipment, and reading schematics, one‑line and wiring diagrams.
• Experience operating equipment up to 345 kV and performing lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
