Construction Superintendent

About the role

Our client, a respected commercial general contractor, is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead corrections construction projects throughout the Southern United States. The role is fully traveling, ideal for a professional who enjoys managing complex, high‑profile institutional builds from groundbreaking to closeout.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site leadership for corrections and other highly regulated construction projects from start to finish.
• Direct daily field operations, coordinate subcontractors, vendors and site logistics to meet safety, schedule and budget targets.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers and facility representatives.
• Maintain and update project schedules, proactively resolve field challenges, and ensure compliance with quality standards and contract specifications.
• Conduct daily reports, safety meetings, inspections and subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety policies, keep the job site clean and organized.
• Lead project teams through successful closeout and turnover.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
• Demonstrated experience on corrections, detention, secure government, federal, military, institutional or other highly regulated projects (strongly preferred).
• Willingness and ability to travel full‑time across the Southern United States.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, scheduling, quality control and safety.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• OSHA certification (preferred).
• Interpretation of construction drawings and specifications.
