Pump Mechanic (Service Tech II)

About the role

United Rentals is seeking a Pump Mechanic (Service Tech II) to join its Fluid division. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on a variety of pumps while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform service documentation and record keeping.
• Train and mentor lower‑level technicians.
• Demonstrate equipment to customers and travel to on‑site locations.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair pumps of various sizes and manufacturers.
• Complete other duties as assigned, ensuring safety compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of experience repairing and maintaining pumps.
• Strong mechanical background, especially with engines.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Own the tools required for the position.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lb regularly.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
