Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician

About the role

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine seeks a full‑time academic Pulmonary and Critical Care physician to join its growing division. The position combines clinical care, medical education, and program development within the UT Health East Texas network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services (Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm).
• Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to clinical innovation, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with a team of eight physicians and four advanced practice providers.
• Potentially assume future leadership roles within the division.

Required profile

• Board eligible or board certified in both Pulmonology and Critical Care.
• Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
• Willingness to share call duties on a 1:8 schedule.
• Commitment to academic medicine and patient‑centered care.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR.
