Public Health Nurse – U.S. Army

About the role
Join the U.S. Army as a Public Health Nurse and support the health and readiness of service members, their families, retirees, DoD civilians, and host‑nation communities. You will work on bases and during humanitarian missions, applying your nursing expertise to protect and promote public health.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, enforce, and enhance health and safety regulations on installations.
- Monitor and control the spread of communicable diseases.
- Develop and implement evidence‑based public health programs.
- Improve existing public health initiatives both on‑base and in humanitarian settings.
- Collaborate with medical and leadership teams to ensure a resilient force.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing and successful NCLEX completion.
- Current, valid, unrestricted nursing license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- RN practice experience in the United States, DC, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
- Meet public health RN experience requirements per current RA/USAR guidance.
- U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, or I‑551 holder eligible for Active Duty or Reserve service.
Required skills
- NCLEX certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
