PT Dockworker – Tyler, TX

About the role

Saia is seeking a part‑time dockworker to join its Tyler, TX facility. You will be responsible for moving freight in and out of trucks, containers, and trailers while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other dock equipment.
• Secure freight with straps, bars, air bags, cardboard, and dunnage.
• Verify shipment labels and ensure correct placement of loads.
• Follow bill of lading and quality‑control procedures to prevent claims.
• Log and report any shortages or damages.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 100 lb and work in varying weather conditions.
• Preferred experience in warehouse, freight, or dock environments and forklift certification or hazmat training.
