Psychiatrist or PMHNP – Outpatient Practice

About the role

Choices of Alabama seeks a board‑certified Psychiatrist (MD/DO) or a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a collaborative outpatient practice serving Alabama families. The position offers immediate access to an established patient panel and flexible scheduling, including telehealth and in‑person options.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for adult patients.
• Maintain continuity of care by assuming an existing caseload from day one.
• Collaborate with an experienced team of therapists to deliver coordinated, patient‑centered care.

Required profile

• For Psychiatrists: MD or DO, board certified or eligible in Psychiatry, Alabama medical license.
• For PMHNPs: Current PMHNP certification, Alabama APRN license, DEA registration.
• Minimum two years of independent outpatient experience (preferred for PMHNP).

Required skills

• Management of ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD.
• Prescribing Schedule II controlled substances.
• Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and adjust psychiatric medication with minimal supervision after orientation.
