About the role
Arcetyp LLC is seeking a board‑certified Psychiatrist to join the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. This full‑time, onsite position supports military personnel and their families by delivering mental‑health services, including consultations, group therapies, and emergency care.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical staff and base personnel to promote mental‑health wellness programs such as addiction counseling, stress management, and group therapy.
- Provide patient consultations requested by Naval Hospital providers in accordance with hospital guidelines.
- Document patient care and procedures using the Health Maintenance Strategies International (HMSI) standards and submit required reports.
- Participate in the Family Advocacy Program and the command’s Performance Improvement Program, attending required training and meetings.
- Respond to emergency situations following established protocols, ensuring calm communication and accurate documentation.
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, HIPAA, and all applicable DOD regulations, including obtaining and maintaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Operate and support automated medical systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentra, and the Clinical Information System (CIS).
- Provide training and guidance to government employees, hospital corpsmen, and students as needed.
Required profile
- Board‑certified Psychiatrist with a valid license to practice in the United States and eligibility to work in Japan.
- Experience delivering mental‑health services in a military or government health setting is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and adhere to strict confidentiality and regulatory standards.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and comply with all DOD and MTF policies.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CHCS (Composite Health Care System).
- Proficiency with AHLTA (Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application).
- Experience using ADS (Automated Data Systems).
- Familiarity with Essentra and Clinical Information System (CIS).
