Provider Services Representative

About the role

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a Provider Services Representative in New York. The role uses customer service knowledge to build strong relationships with providers in the health plan's networks, helping improve service quality and explore new ways to manage costs. Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is possible, with hours Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in end-to-end provider on-boarding and help improve call quality
• Help design and run programs that build positive relationships between the health plan, providers and practice managers
• Support the development and management of provider networks
• Help implement training and education programs for external providers
• Identify gaps in network composition and services to support contracting and development teams
• Make outbound calls to providers to collect data and verify information, and analyze and report on operational issues and opportunities

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED or 3+ years of experience in a customer service or provider support role
• 1+ year of experience in a customer service or provider support role
• Preferred: 2+ years of managed care or medical insurance experience

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Word
