Propulsion Systems Chief Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking a Propulsion Systems Chief Engineer to provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of advanced propulsion and actuation products. This senior position will serve as the technical authority for critical programs, guiding technology strategy and ensuring product integrity from concept through production and sustainment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for propulsion system products and programs across development, production, and sustainment.
• Lead technical execution of large, complex engineering programs involving multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and execute technology roadmaps and long‑term product strategies in partnership with business and engineering leadership.
• Own and approve technical content, design decisions, qualification activities, and engineering deliverables.
• Provide final technical disposition for production, sustainment, and field issues, including corrective actions.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent while promoting Moog’s culture of technical excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership of complex aerospace, defense, propulsion or electromechanical programs.
• Proven ability to serve as a technical authority and influence engineering decisions across organizations.
• Experience developing technology strategies, product roadmaps and long‑term engineering plans.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required.
