Project Manager/Estimator – General Construction

About the role

Our client, a reputable general contractor, is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to support both pre‑construction and construction management for convenience‑store and fueling‑station projects across Virginia and the Mid‑Atlantic. This full‑time position offers hands‑on responsibility and the chance to work closely with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for C‑store, fueling and light commercial projects.
• Manage projects from pre‑construction through close‑out, including scheduling, budgeting and subcontractor coordination.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and analyze plans, drawings and specifications.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety and quality.
• Maintain client communication and ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with field superintendents, project engineers and accounting staff for financial and operational accuracy.
• Support business development and proposal efforts as needed.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with C‑store, fuel station or retail projects.
• Experience in both estimating and project‑management roles.
• Working knowledge of construction documents, specifications and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred (not required).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with estimating software.
• Familiarity with project‑management software.
