Project Manager, Project Management Office (PMO)

About the role

Terumo Neuro is hiring a Project Manager for its Project Management Office (PMO) in Aliso Viejo, California. The role manages the scope, schedule and resources of several R&D projects so they are delivered on time, within scope and within budget, while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors and keeping leadership informed.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to project management standards and PMO policies across functional teams, and promote collaboration, accountability and transparency
• Drive project strategy and decisions, direct project activities, assign tasks and manage day-to-day work
• Create and maintain project schedules and budgets
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, resolve issues and escalate them to leadership when needed
• Track project status and performance and report to the PMO and leadership
• Oversee resource allocation, resolve workload conflicts and mentor analysts and junior PMs
• Contribute to continuous improvement, stay informed of PMO trends and tools in the medical device industry, and comply with laws, regulations, quality management system processes and ethical standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business or Life Sciences
• At least 6 years of work experience in the medical device industry and 3 years of project management experience in that industry
• Strong experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or similar
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
• Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
• Desirable: advanced degree, PMP certification, knowledge of medical device development, regulatory requirements and quality management systems, and Class II/III medical device experience
