Project Manager – Multi‑Family Construction

About the role

The company, a leading developer‑builder of affordable multi‑family housing in California, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead high‑density residential projects from pre‑construction through handover. You will own all aspects of planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder communication.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multi‑family construction projects from buyout and pre‑construction planning through final inspections and close‑out.
• Develop, maintain and adjust project schedules, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Manage full financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, buyouts, monthly draws and change‑order administration.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration and performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with affordable‑housing regulations and funding programs such as LIHTC, HUD and prevailing‑wage requirements.
• Act as primary liaison between development teams, architects, engineers, municipal officials, consultants and field superintendents.
• Monitor quality, safety, documentation and reporting throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide regular updates on budgets, schedules, risks and overall project status to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing multi‑family or commercial vertical construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of high‑density wood‑frame (Type III/V) and podium construction, and complex urban site logistics.
• Proven track record in budgeting, cost control, forecasting and schedule performance.
• Experience with affordable‑housing funding mechanisms and related regulatory compliance.
