Project Manager – Modernization

About the role

Schindler is seeking a Project Manager – Modernization to lead elevator modernization projects in Reno, NV. The role bridges sales, engineering, and field teams to ensure specifications are met, projects are delivered on time, and financial targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and manage new installation/modernization projects to meet efficiency and profitability goals.
• Review and book projects within one week of award, notifying the manager of any date constraints and providing action plans.
• Provide approved submittals to engineering and vendors, coordinate material delivery to ensure readiness before the start date.
• Interface with the Field Superintendent to track progress, flag potential delays, and propose corrective actions.
• Identify change‑order opportunities, prepare paperwork, and obtain signed approvals before work proceeds.
• Ensure timely invoicing and achieve at least 90% payment before elevator turnover.
• Participate in professional development programs to deepen knowledge of Schindler products and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management or Finance.
• Minimum five years of experience in the elevator industry or a related building‑systems field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to prepare and manage project documentation and change orders.
