Field Assistant

About the role

Alston Construction is seeking a motivated Field Assistant to support the Superintendent on construction sites in Reno. You will help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general job‑site assistance to the Superintendent.
• Monitor subcontractors’ work to ensure compliance with construction standards, codes, drawings, specifications, schedules, safety, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractor crews and perform miscellaneous field operations such as site clean‑up, material handling, and loading/unloading.
• Report field problems, project issues, and progress to the Superintendent.
• Participate in project meetings, including safety pre‑construction and weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Assist with coordination of subcontractor warranty work and complete assigned warranty tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Ability to work on construction sites and support field operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and quality procedures.
• Effective communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with subcontractors and the project team.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, material handling, and site maintenance.
