Project Manager - MEP Construction

About the role

The company seeks an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes on a major data‑center project in Columbus, Ohio. This on‑site role coordinates all MEP systems, ensuring integration with overall project goals while driving schedule, quality, and budget performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of MEP scopes from pre‑construction through commissioning and close‑out.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractor performance across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades.
• Drive procurement of long‑lead MEP equipment and materials.
• Monitor installation sequencing to maintain critical schedule milestones.
• Lead MEP coordination meetings and resolve field conflicts.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and commissioning plans.
• Manage change orders, cost tracking, and forecasting for MEP systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Support successful commissioning and turnover of mission‑critical systems.

Required profile

• 8–10+ years of construction project management experience.
• Direct experience managing data‑center projects.
• Strong expertise in mission‑critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex subcontractor teams and integrate systems.
• Experience overseeing commissioning and startup processes.
• Solid financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work on‑site 4–5 days per week; local candidates preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
