Project Manager II

About the role

CDM Smith is looking for a Project Manager II to lead engineering and construction projects from definition through delivery. The role involves creating project scopes, schedules, budgets, and ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining profitability and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project definitions, detailed statements of work, and work breakdown structures.
• Assess project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure profitability.
• Prepare and review client billings, follow up on payments, and approve subcontractor/vendor invoices.
• Oversee change management processes, adjusting scope and schedule as needed.
• Coordinate safety reviews and implement safety plans on site.
• Provide guidance to designers, engineers, and contractors, and manage project staffing and resources.
• Respond to audit findings and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience creating project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
• Strong ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven track record of managing project profitability and billing cycles.
• Experience reviewing and approving subcontractor and vendor invoices.
• Capability to lead change management and safety compliance efforts.
