Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

C.A.C. Industries, a 100% employee‑owned heavy civil contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead watermain, sewer and highway projects throughout the NYC area. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of heavy civil contracts, managing revenue, safety, risk, schedule, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and owners to meet milestones and budget targets.
• Prepare and review schedules, budgets, resource allocations and risk mitigation plans.
• Procure materials and equipment, monitor site progress, conduct regular site visits and report status.
• Maintain project documentation, including permits, RFIs, change orders and cost reports.
• Lead project meetings, negotiate change orders and resolve issues with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• 7+ years managing watermain/sewer and heavy highway projects for government agencies.
• Experience with MTA, DOT, DEC or similar public entities and knowledge of union labor agreements.
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• OSHA 30 certification.
• AutoCAD (preferred), B2W or similar document‑control software.
• MS Project and Primavera P6 scheduling software (preferred).
