Project Manager – General Construction

About the role

Our client, a respected commercial general contractor in Greenville, SC, is seeking a Project Manager to lead interior and tenant‑upfit projects from pre‑construction through closeout. The role offers autonomy, visibility and the chance to work on $1M‑$5M high‑end commercial renovations, including corporate, medical and retail spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all project phases from kickoff to completion.
• Develop and maintain schedules, budgets and cost reporting.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and project teams.
• Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders and procurement activities.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, architects and field staff.
• Ensure projects meet quality, safety and schedule expectations.
• Conduct project meetings and keep accurate documentation.
• Support business development through strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience managing commercial interior or tenant‑upfit projects.
• Medical construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with high‑end interior or corporate renovations (plus).
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and project controls.
• Ability to manage multiple fast‑paced projects.
• Excellent communication, organization and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Construction management software proficiency.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
