Project Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The Project Manager is accountable for planning, executing, and delivering construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role leads multidisciplinary teams, manages subcontractors and vendors, and maintains strong customer relationships to ensure project success.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall project leadership from pre‑construction through closeout.
• Manage day‑to‑day execution, resolving scope, schedule, cost, and quality issues.
• Lead bidding, estimating, negotiations, and buyout activities.
• Establish and maintain project budgets, cost controls, and profit projections.
• Communicate professionally with owners, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Review drawings and specifications, identify risks, and guide execution.
• Oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, and document control.
• Prepare, review, and approve project change orders and pricing.
• Develop and manage project schedules and manpower plans.
• Select subcontractors and vendors, negotiate and execute contracts.
• Approve invoices, track labor and material costs, and update financial forecasts.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, quality, and coordination.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers and other team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience, preferably HVAC and plumbing mechanical contracting.
• Proven experience with design‑build, pre‑construction, and design‑assist delivery methods.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret construction documents.
• Demonstrated leadership managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel as required.
