Project Manager – Construction

About the role

The Project Manager (CM4) leads small construction projects or defined scopes of larger projects from pre‑construction through closeout. This position marks the transition from project support to independent ownership, with responsibility for schedule, budget, subcontractor performance, and client coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects or major scopes from pre‑construction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to meet milestones.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify scope requirements and conflicts.
• Administer RFIs, submittals, and change orders, evaluating cost and schedule impacts.
• Track labor productivity, material costs, equipment usage, and overall financial performance.
• Lead project meetings and communicate with clients, inspectors, vendors, and consultants.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Assistant Coordinators.

Required profile

• 4–7 years of progressive construction project management or coordination experience.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and subcontractors independently.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods and ability to read and enforce drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Excellent leadership, organization, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, or equivalent)
• OSHA 30‑hour Construction Safety certification (or ability to obtain)
• Project management certification (CAPM, PMP) – preferred
