Project Manager - Commercial Construction

About the role

Great States Construction, a leading commercial general contractor in Fargo, ND, seeks a driven Project Manager to lead multifamily and commercial construction projects. Reporting to the VP of Construction, you will partner with senior leadership and field teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects from pre‑construction through close‑out, owning schedules, budgets, and cost tracking.
• Lead subcontractor coordination, procurement, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Monitor financial performance, support forecasting, and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Partner with the Superintendent to drive field execution and align office‑field teams.
• Identify and escalate risks, support successful project close‑out, and participate in client and OAC meetings.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of construction project management experience, preferably on $1M–$50M multifamily/commercial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and cost control.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Clean driving record.
