Project Facilities Manager

About the role

The Department of Facilities, Planning, Design & Construction at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a Project Facilities Manager to lead campus renovation and capital improvement projects. This six‑month, full‑time contract role offers hands‑on responsibility from early planning through construction closeout.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned renovation and capital improvement projects from scope development to construction closeout.
• Coordinate with campus stakeholders, design consultants, and contractors to advance design and construction activities.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
• Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and change orders in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Conduct site visits, track progress, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.

Required profile

• Several years of experience managing small to mid‑size construction or facilities projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse campus teams and external consultants.
• Strong organizational and communication skills in a higher‑education environment.
• Eligibility to work full‑time on a six‑month contractual basis.
