Project Accountant

About the role

BNP Associates, Inc., a global air transportation consulting and engineering firm founded in 1971, is looking for a Project Accountant. The role sits between accounting and project management, supporting domestic and international projects with financial reporting, budget tracking and invoicing. Candidates are ideally based in Denver, CO or Fairfield, CT.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project financials and produce accurate, timely reports on project status, budgets and performance.
• Act as the main contact between accounting and project managers, answering financial questions about assigned projects.
• Keep project data up to date and accurate.
• Support month-end and project close-out processes.
• Assist with invoicing, budget tracking and cost reconciliation across multiple projects.
• Work cross-functionally to find and fix discrepancies in project financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of accounting or finance experience; internships welcome.
• Attention to detail, organization and strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to handle several projects and deadlines at once.
• Comfortable with domestic and international project accounting.

Required skills

• Deltek Vantagepoint experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in a project-based or engineering consulting environment preferred.
• Experience in multi-entity or international organizations and in high-growth or acquisition-driven environments preferred.

• Salary of $75,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
